The Shoot and Share Photography Competition
The Results are in…
With a lot of hesitation, I did it again -- I submitted a collection of images to the 2019 Shoot and Share Photography Contest in January. This particular contest is free and anyone, worldwide, can enter up to 50 images across 25 different categories. Anyone can vote in this contest as well. The voting is totally visual, selecting 1 of 4 images in the same category without knowing who the photographer is or any other information about the image - which makes this contest completely fair and incredibly addicting.
This year, over 580,000 images were submitted from all over the world and over 90 million votes were cast. Just the sheer volume of those statistics alone gives me goose bumps.
Of the images I submitted, I’m very proud to announce that 33 received awards. I didn’t expect a lot going into this year’s competition, so I was very surprised and beyond humbled by the results.
So, before you read any further, I just want to say thank you. Thank you to all that voted and thank you to all that let me know they saw my images. If you entered, I want to say congratulations to you. Regardless of your results, it's hard to put your images out there for the world to see and to be judged. I was terrified and I'm sure you were too, so here's to being vulnerable, brave, scared, and every emotion in between. High-fives to us!
